FREE PODCAST: A Christmas Clash in 1943

I was going to take some time off before New Year, but instead, I’m giving you a Christmas present… A cracking interview that I just wanted to recycle and punt back into view. Back during lockdown one of the most memorable podcasts we recorded for History Hack has always stuck in my mind. It was WW2 historian and map guru Merryn Walters, telling us all about the Battle of Ortona, a very un-festive scrap you’ve probably never heard of… Even if you listened at the time, I guarantee you won’t regret listening to Merryn own this story a second time…

TV Presenter/Historian (FRHistS). MRes. That makes me sound like an adult. Which is a lie. I guess, come for those credentials, stay for the sarcastic, sweary version of history? 20th Century Military, royals, older wars boats and other rabbit holes.
