NEWS SHOT: New Podcast!
Today I launched the 15 Minute Book Club, a new short-form podcast. I really missed working with aviation historian Matt Bone after all the fun we had on History Hack back in lockdown, and so we thought we’d try something new.
The podcast market is crowded, but we don’t always have time to sit down for an hour and listen to a full length episode for our favourite show. So we thought we’d offer up a weekly filler for that quick coffee break, a dash to the shops, or even that extended daily man-visit to the throne room (us girls have no idea what takes you so long in there).
Each week, we’ll be meeting an author. Mainly on-fiction, but if we read something special, we’ll offer you fiction too. We’ve got a banger coming up in a couple of weeks. Said author has fifteen minutes on the clock to convince you that you need their new book in your life. Think of it like a miniature game show. With a minute to go, we have some fun by throwing out the meanest, saddest thing we think the internet will say about the book, and our guest has till the alarm sounds to shoot it down.
Patreon members will also have access each week to an additional fifteen minutes in which we go behind the scenes to find out how the book was written.
We aired the pilot with Kate Vigurs last week, but now you can access Episode 1, in which David Rooney talks to us about The Big Hop, and the race to fly across the Atlantic in 1919.
You can access it wherever you get your podcasts.
You can also watch the video versions on our YouTube channel:
