Great piece, as usual. The Lillte Big Horn battle site is a must-see if in Montana. My wife and I went about 10 years ago, and treated to an unbelievable tour, by a native lady. Giving the battle history from the native view-point was amazing.

Great piece, Alex, as usual!! Curly and the Battle of the Little Bighorn kind of exemplifies the arrogance of the white man vs Natives. Custer, a living legend after the Civil War, beat by a band of “savages” in part because their intelligence was underestimated (par for the course for a long, long time). Curly exudes Native dignity and pride. If he spun a yarn a bit, so be it. How many times were the Natives exploited from the time the white man showed up in North America?
