I’m a fan of Clare’s books and my plan is to pick up a copy of Zo at WHWFV, get it signed too hopefully. I’ve been fortunate to meet Clare and chat with her over coffee, charming and patient are the words I would use.
Really looking forward to meeting the wonderful Clare at Chalke History Festival, where I'll be getting my copy of Agent Zo. I'm sure this will be as fascinating as her previous work.
1880s to 1950s mostly pre WWl then WWl morphing into WWll history and biography. Have enjoyed the 3 Frank McDonaghs, Margaret MacMillan’s ‘The War that Ended Peace’ and ‘Six Months that Changed the World’, a couple of biographies of Lloyd George, Alex’s book on George V, Katja Hoyer ‘Blood and Iron’ and the new one. So where to go from there really. Any suggestions welcome.
I'm guessing like everyone else, I've never heard of Agent Zo, so really looking forward to reading this.
I'd read another book on Krystyna Skarbek which although good, didn't give her the humanity and femininity that Clare did in "The Spy Who Loved", if she's done the same for Elzbieta, this will be superb.
Brilliant new take to give teasers (and the teaser is a belter) on new books Alex, looking forward to more in the future.

Book recommendations of any kind are very welcome, not just new books, any you have found to be useful or just interesting. This looks fantastic.
What era are you thinking of to narrow things down Sue?

Thank you! I will look into them both. I’ve come across a couple of clunkers recently so it’s good to have recommendations!
